Aulis Lundell and Moomin Characters present MOOMIN by Liune gliding door selection at Naantali Housing Fair

In the licensing agreement, Moomin Characters Oy Ltd and Aulis Lundell Oy agree about the use of Moomin characters in Lundell’s Liune gliding doors. Moomin images, just as other art images on Liune doors, are printed either on even, painted solid wood or glass surface, or they are printed on a magnetic sheet that can be applied to all Liune door materials.

At the Housing Fair, the first MOOMIN by Liune doors feature summer themes. The selection will expand in the fall with new themes that fit into the interiors of homes and playrooms.

– We are very happy that our gliding doors symbolically are now open to the Moomin Valley. This will be a new adventure in the story of our company. The cooperation with Moomin Characters is a characteristic step for us – we want to show that quality and creativity bring well-being to all people. I also want to thank Moomin Characters for the inspiring discussions we have had concerning design and international brand management, says Leena Lundell, the Chairperson at Aulis Lundell Oy.

– We are very glad to start this cooperation with Aulis Lundell Oy. The company represents Finnish entrepreneurship at its best, and we believe that the combination of Finnish expertise and the values the Moomins stand for will be internationally successful. What is more, I am personally very happy to partner with a company based in Lohja, because my family has been enjoying the summers by Lake Lohjanjärvi for almost 140 years, states Roleff Kråkström, Managing Director of Moomin Characters Oy Ltd.

Modular construction is safe, high-quality, and affordable

At the Naantali Housing Fair, Aulis Lundell Oy will also showcase its leading expertise in modular construction at its Lundell X MOD house (Ua5).  It is a developed version of the conversion flexible modular house announced at the Lohja Housing Fair last summer.

The development of the steel modular house is part of Aulis Lundell Oy's strategy to specialize in producing high-value-added construction products.  The modular house meets the light structures manufactured by the company for a long time and recyclability. Lightweight structures allow for better load capacity, so the steel frame of the modular house weighs one-third less than the corresponding wooden frame.

"The demand for modular houses has increased during the pandemic years. Their central idea is that they are technically perfect single-family houses for year-round living, which can be moved to a new location whole" says Leena Lundell.

"Steel-framed housing, school, hospital, or office modules manufactured in the factory are an easy and safe way to build quickly. Genuinely mobile spaces and homes adapt to changes in the needs of people and building regulations. A short and controlled construction period reduces risks and the capital invested in the property produces faster. The 100-year life cycle of steel supports portability and sustainable development," Leena Lundell continues.

In 2021, Aulis Lundell Oy won the best house, the best yard, and the best interior decoration at the Lohja Housing Fair 2021, as well as the first Green Act commendation. Liune sliding doors were an important part of the impressive and colorful interior of the Vortex House.

– Liune sliding doors are suitable for all homes. They enable the creation of personal space and atmosphere, reinforced by art, colors, and surfaces. Liune doors slide uniquely inside the wall, saving space and leaving wall surfaces free for furniture and boards, for example. This space wisdom is emphasized in efficient modular houses," Leena Lundell sums up.

At the Naantali Housing Fair, visual artist Johanna Oras' art installation "La Perla" is on display at the Lundell X MOD house.  After aprons, the module house with all amenities is for sale, for example, as a guest room for a leisure home.
